Steps to Become a SET Certified Adult Volunteer and Employee
All employees and adult (18 and older) volunteers, catechists and users of our spaces are required to:

- After creating an account, submit your background check information within the database.
- You should be directed to the background submission page, if not please reach out to Diocese Tech Support
Register for and attend a Safe Environment Training workshop approved by the Diocese of Raleigh.

Renewal
1. Renew each summer ONLINE via your database account.
2. This is a 20-40min renewal that is only available online from July 15 - September 15 each year.
3. Background checks will also be renewed through the online database during the July 15 - September 15 window.
4. DO NOT RENEW BEFORE JULY 15 of each year or your next year will not be credited
The training is designed to recognize Child Abuse and Neglect AND the proper protocols if you believe abuse or misconduct have occurred. Background checks are valid for two years; however, Safe Environment training and certification must be renewed every year.
