Falcon Athletics
Teams
St. Mary teams participate in the Southeastern Middle School League in soccer, volleyball, basketball, and baseball. League members include Cape Fear Academy, Friends School, Harrell's Christian Academy, Myrtle Grove Christian School, Southeastern Academy, St. Mark, and Wilmington Christian Academy.
Current St. Mary Athletic offerings are noted in the chart. Some sports are contingent on the number of interested students, but students may participate in more than one sport per season.
Please note, practice days and times are subject to League discussions, and may change.
Athletes and parents will have specific sport calendars provided by their coach at the beginning of the season.
* Girls on the Run/STRIDE registration is via the GOTR website.
Athletic Forms
All St. Mary Catholic Student Athletes will need to submit a physical, concussion, and permission form to participation in athletics:
Athlete Physical Evaluation Form (to be done by pediatrician). The New Hanover County Athletics physical form is also accepted.
Permission Form - Online form now available! Or you can print the paper form and submit to the Coach Gross.

Our mission at St. Mary Catholic School is to foster the holistic development of our students through athletics and to promote physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

Sportsmanship and Coaching
Sportsmanship is the foundation for interscholastic sports and activities. Do your part in contributing to good sportsmanship in your school and community and take the course "Sportsmanship", available for free on the NFHS Learning Center.
St. Mary volunteer coaches are required to watch the NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching course which provides a unique student-centered curriculum for interscholastic teacher/coaches. The cost of the program will be reimbursed by St. Mary.
