My name is David McConnell and I am an Alumni of the class of 2009. After years of going to college as a graphic designer, I wanted to do something with more fulfillment.
Since 2018, I have been the Kennel Manager, Canines for Therapy Instructor, and Advanced Service Dog Trainer at Canines for Service.
Canines for Service is a nonprofit that creates life changing partnerships between Veterans and Service Dogs at no extra cost to the Veteran. We serve Veterans with service-related PTSD, Traumatic Brain Injuries, and/or mobility limitations.
Mission Statement: "Empowering people with disabilities to achieve greater independence and enchanted quality of life through the services of a special trained assistance dogs."
I have assisted and placed over 10 service dogs with Veterans over my time at Canines for Service. And that's just the beginning!
