From Mariah Smith:
"I am an alumni of St. Mary Catholic School. I attended school here from 3rd- 8th grades. St. Mary's has helped me succeed not only in high school but also college. To this day, I am still using the knowledge, academic skills, and life skills that I learned while attending this school. I feel like I learned more at my time at St. Mary's than I did in high school. I now have two young children and have recently toured the school. The school is still as beautiful as ever and has undergone an amazing renovation while keeping the history of the school intact. I was thoroughly impressed with the curriculum and opportunities available for students. While I want my children to have a good foundation in the usual core courses, I also want them to have a good foundation in Catholic values, Spanish, technology, and music, all of which St. Mary's offers. When your children attend St. Mary's, you really are becoming part of the family. There are small class sizes and everyone knows each other. I look forward to sending my children here very soon!"
(Mariah and her mother toured the school last week in hopes of bringing her own children here in the fall. She sent these comments after her visit. Welcome Home Mariah and the whole Smith family!)

The St. Mary Catholic School

St. Mary Catholic School is dedicated to a total education program in grades Pre-Kindergarten through Eighth Grade. Simply stated, our school philosophy is that every facet of life is important: Spiritual, Physical, Educational, and Emotional.

The faculty and staff strive to instill Christian values so that each student becomes a force of good in God’s world. At the same time, the educational program leads and encourages students to develop their intellect to its full potential.

St. Mary Catholic School’s graduates are prepared to enroll in the honors courses offered by area high schools. The school’s emphasis is on preparing students to be independent learners who maintain high academic achievements and standards throughout their high school and college years.

St. Mary Catholic School is  first Catholic school in North Carolina. The school was established in 1869.
