Results from our first St. Mary Chess Tournament.
1st - Justin Pasulka (5th grade)
2nd - Luca Duma (2nd grade)
3rd - Michael Tremaglio (5th grade) and Dante Jimeno (7th)

The tournament included 10 children from the advanced group. The winners got to pick between a medal or a chess book.

The children enjoyed the competition and we loved to see them challenging themselves. We are planning to compete against other school chess clubs towards the end of the school year.

The St. Mary Catholic School

St. Mary Catholic School is dedicated to a total education program in grades Pre-Kindergarten through Eighth Grade. Simply stated, our school philosophy is that every facet of life is important: Spiritual, Physical, Educational, and Emotional.

The faculty and staff strive to instill Christian values so that each student becomes a force of good in God’s world. At the same time, the educational program leads and encourages students to develop their intellect to its full potential.

St. Mary Catholic School’s graduates are prepared to enroll in the honors courses offered by area high schools. The school’s emphasis is on preparing students to be independent learners who maintain high academic achievements and standards throughout their high school and college years.

St. Mary Catholic School is  first Catholic school in North Carolina. The school was established in 1869.
