On Thursday morning, our middle school students were treated to a performance by the Artist in Residence of the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra. Ifetayo Ali-Landing, cellist, won the Sphinx competition last year and we were fortunate to have been chosen to have her perform for us accompanied by Dr. Errante, conductor of WSO. In addition to her performance, she also answered our students’ questions.
She will be performing with the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra this Sat. evening at the CFCC Wilson Center - Cape Fear Community College at 7:30 p.m.

Special Visitor
After Mass this morning, Mrs. Price met with a lovely visitor, Dr. Kathleen Dannaher Spector. She was visiting Wilmington for her reunion celebration at New Hanover High School. She graduated from St. Mary School in 1963. She shared such wonderful stories of her years here. You can see her father’s name on the plaque in the lower school entrance. She so enjoyed our students’ beautiful voices and the warm welcome that she received here today and was so pleased to see that the rich traditions of St. Mary School are continuing.

The St. Mary Catholic School

St. Mary Catholic School is dedicated to a total education program in grades Pre-Kindergarten through Eighth Grade. Simply stated, our school philosophy is that every facet of life is important: Spiritual, Physical, Educational, and Emotional.

The faculty and staff strive to instill Christian values so that each student becomes a force of good in God’s world. At the same time, the educational program leads and encourages students to develop their intellect to its full potential.

St. Mary Catholic School’s graduates are prepared to enroll in the honors courses offered by area high schools. The school’s emphasis is on preparing students to be independent learners who maintain high academic achievements and standards throughout their high school and college years.

St. Mary Catholic School is  first Catholic school in North Carolina. The school was established in 1869.
