St Mary Catholic School Weekly Update (7/24 - 7/28)

Greetings, St Mary Stakeholders--

I hope your summer continues to abound with blessings and awesome wonder. The schoolhouse is quiet. We are busy cleaning and planning...and planning and cleaning. Here are some timely updates:

• On Day 26, thank you to all who have shared time, talent and treasure to smooth the transition. Mrs. Price continues to share her experience with me. I do know, however, that she is chomping on the bit of retirement.
• The majority of new faculty members have been hired. Paperwork has been finalized for two. (In process for the others.) Welcome aboard, Megan Gavrillen and Christy Kornegay. Mrs. Gavrillen will teach middle school English / Language Arts and religion. Ms. Kornegay will teach 7th grade Math 1 and 8th grade Foundations of Math 1.
• Heads up that we are not using EPI for supply lists this year. Instead, supply lists are under My School on our home page. Or you can get the link from our FB page. Target is currently having a back to school sale. Wherever you buy and whatever brand you purchase, just ensure your student has appropriate supplies on Day One.
• Nothing has changed with the uniform policy. It is OK for students to wear sneakers with their uniforms. We have a great selection of gently used uniforms that we sell at major discounts. (Jumpers are $9. We are currently doing a limited half price sale.) Stop by the school for a look. Otherwise, our uniform provider is SchoolBelles.
• Extra...Extra...Read All About It! Our Marketing / Enrollment Committee is working on a newsletter that will be emailed to all stakeholders in a week or two.
• We are finalizing all matters relating to tuition. By the end of the week your accounts should be updated, if they are not already.
• We have opportunities for volunteers in the library, front office, cafeteria, and clothes closet. Contact me or the front office if you have a calling to serve. Safe Environment training is required.
• Student Orientations are August 21 and 22. Check the school calendar for details.

God is great, and we thank him daily for the blessings he bestows. St Mary Basilica and School continues to be inordinately blessed. May the same always be true for you and yours.
