Dear St. Mary School Families,

Above you see the successful winners of the DAR Poster Contest depicting a Stamp Act event of the 1700’s. These awards were given to the winners on Tuesday. Representatives from the DAR dressed in period costumes presented the following students with their awards:
1st Place and $125 to Madison Swart
2nd Place and $100 to Kasey Kiser
3rd Place and $50 to Tara Bellows
Honorable Mention and $50 to Makenzie Payne, Izzy Stoneback, Gabrielle Flewwellin
CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL!

On Monday our school participated in a Lock in Place. That occurred when I received a call from the head SRO (Sheriff’s Dept.) for our area. There had been an incident near Williston, so we locked in place. That means that all students are allowed to continue movement within the buildings. We just don’t go outside for any reason. The directive was lifted within 15 minutes.

Our school is abuzz over FRIDAY FRIGHT NIGHT, 4-8 p.m. today. The 8th grade class and their parents have been working afternoons and nights to create this year’s Haunted House. The tents have been delivered and parents will begin at noon to transform Ann St. into a great big Halloween Party. Please join us for a child-centered evening of fun, food, and friendship.

Our faculty thanks H.S.A. for the 1st quarter Teacher Appreciation Lunch on Tuesday last week. Not only was the food delicious, but parents covering the lunchroom was a wonderful treat. Thank you to Dr. Ashley Putney, Hospitality Chair, for organizing this for us.

First quarter report cards will be emailed to parents next Friday. Grade books will be closed today until next Friday while the teachers average grades. Parent conferences will be held on Friday, November 13th.

Have a great time tonight!

Blessings,
Mrs. Joyce Price
