Dear St. Mary School Families,
Thanks again to all the families who came out to ride on our float in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade last Saturday. It was one of the largest turnouts ever! Thank you to the Stovalls (Holladay-1st and Corbett-PreK4) who provided the truck and flatbed. It was lots of fun under perfect weather.
Our green dress down was a great success! We raised $417 to be shared between Sr. Isaac’s Social Ministry and our St. Elizabeth Ann Seton statue fund to provide a new statue of her at the new cathedral in Raleigh. All the schools of the diocese have been asked to contribute to this project.
During Lent we have attended Stations of the Cross each Wednesday led by each class of Grades 4-8. The students in Grades 3-8 also had the opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
Today at Mass the students and faculty brought forth their Rice Bowls. Thank you to all who contributed to Operation Rice Bowl. These funds will be sent to Catholic Relief Services who provide humanitarian relief and development to the poor and marginalized in 100 countries and territories around the world.
Physical Plant Changes – We hope to be back in the gym shortly after we return from Spring Break, playing on a brand new hardwood floor.
Construction on the elevator in the TilestonCenter will begin while we are away.
AdvancEd School Accreditation
I am pleased to say that after the 2 day External Review, St.MarySchool will be recommended for re-accreditation! Thank you to Mrs. Karen Brown for chairing this project.
I wish you all a blessed Holy Week and a Happy Easter!
