Investing in St. Mary Catholic School
In 1869, with determination, sacrifice and extraordinary gifts of time, talent and financial support, the Sisters of Mercy established the Academy of the Incarnation; North Carolina’s first Catholic school. Later, the school became what we know today as St. Mary Catholic School.
Today, support for St. Mary School comes from parents, grandparents, friends, foundations and corporations. Gifts to the SMS Annual Fund and the Falcon Scholars Fund support the current operating budget and tuition assistance needs. Membership in the Boundary Oak Society for Planned Giving provides lasting support to the long term success of our school. The Annual Fund is a yearly campaign to raise financial support for a wide range of programs and initiatives that continue to provide St. Mary students with a solid educational foundation to succeed in high school and beyond. All alumni, parents and friends of the school are asked to make a gift to the Annual Fund through a variety of solicitation methods including: a personal ask from a Development Office staff member; a direct mail letter; a phone call from a parent or student; or electronic media.
Make A Donation to the Falcon Scholar’s Fund
More than 20% of our students receive need based tuition assistance. As part of the Annual Fund for SMS, donors can now support student tuition assistance through the St. Mary Falcon Scholars Fund. The Falcon Scholars Fund will be distributed each year, enabling SMS to provide tuition assistance to students who demonstrate financial need. Requirements to establish a named Falcon Scholars Fund are as follows:
- $2,600 annual gift representing one-half of the full expenses for one student.
- $5,200 annual gift representing the full cost of educating one student.
Falcon Scholars donors are encouraged to make a minimum three year commitment to the fund. Through participation in this program, you can witness a life being forever changed and gain satisfaction in making a difference in the life of a child through Catholic education.
