Dear St. Mary Families,
Last year, we introduced a new fundraising model for our school that took us away from selling “things” for other companies to supporting “St. Mary School” through an Annual Fund Campaign. The majority of the schools in our diocese are hiring personnel and establishing these types of advancement/development programs to help guarantee the future of our schools.
The Falcon Athletic Boosters and the Home & School Association continue to promote community building activities and fun events for you and your students and are a vital part of the total fundraising effort for the school. The new model is designed to limit the number of “asks” you will see each year in hopes that you will support the effort that makes you feel the most connected to the school.
The choices this year are quite varied and all have the potential for helping us raise funds to do many, many more great things for our school.
First, you have just received a brochure and envelope asking you to support the Annual Fund. Please share this information with grandparents and other family members over the upcoming holidays. It is a wonderful, 100% tax deductible, way to help support the school. If each family contributed just $200, we would raise more than $35,000. Remember, we are not selling products for other companies instead we are making a tax-deductible investment in St. Mary School. As a result of our donor reception last week, several substantial contributions are being made to the school via the Annual Fund.
The second opportunity this year will be a newly themed gala in the Upper Room 1871 on Saturday, February 28, 2015,
The Tinseltown Ball! There are many opportunities to get involved with this great new event! Purchase a table or a sponsorship package for your business! Buy your own tickets early because with the Wilmington Big Band performing, it is sure to be a sellout!
When the weather gets a little warmer, March 21, 2015, join the Falcon Athletic Boosters for the 4th Annual St. Mary Golf Classic held at Cape Fear National Golf Club at Brunswick Forest. This event WILL sell-out again this year and features a great course, great food and an incredible silent auction and prizes.
The finale of the fundraising this year will be an all-new Luv-2-Run 5K and Fun Run on May 9, 2015. This year, the run will begin and end at St. Mary School taking the participants through historic downtown. Information is already available for purchasing sponsorships to support this event!
With your help and support making all of these events successful, we will be able to reach many of the goals including technology advancement, student enrichment and maybe even a new gym floor!
Regards,
JoAnn Daley
